Crispin Clarke, Executive Director
Few people have as much passion for nonviolence work as Crispin, who came to MEN as its first paid co-ordinator in 2007 following years of peace work which had already taken him across America with the Global Peace Walk and to El Salvador on extended service with GEOMED. Son of a British diplomat, he grew up in England, Germany, and Zimbabwe before attending St. Alban’s school and Swarthmore College. He brings incredible energy to the position, as well as ten years’ experience in the non-profit sector. He is a ceramic artist, a lover of Nature, and quite recently married and became a step-father. Crispin is also Secretary of the Board of Directors.
Gus Gonzalez LISW, Clinical Director
Gus became one of MEN’s first mentors, eventually joining the Board of Directors in 2008. He is a lifelong Taoseño whose service has included being a foster parent, a major domo of his acequia, and twelve years as a board member of ChildRite (an adoption agency). He currently works as a behavioral health clinician with the Children, Youth and Families Division (CYFD) of New Mexico, where he frequently collaborates with MEN with boys in juvenile probation. We are fortunate that he has come onboard as Clinical Director as well, supervising our staff weekly.
Fritz Hahn LMSW, Director of Programs
Fritz joined MEN in August 2008 to serve as Director of Programs. After thirty years working in Taos as a small business owner, Fritz returned to school to get his degree in social work - specifically in order to serve boys and young men. His practicum centered on group work for boys at Taos Middle School. He brings a remarkable level of passion and experience to the position and has been instrumental in tripling the number of mentors, setting up internships for SMU and UNM students, and implementing our evaluation process in partnership with UNM Medical School.
Steve Moser, LMHC, Fatherhood Programs Director
Stephen Moser Steve brings a diverse background to the position, having received his BA in Psychology and Philosophy, his MFA in acting, and most recently a Master’s Degree in Counseling from Southwestern College of Life Sciences. During his 16 years in Taos, Steve has continued his passion for acting, including participating in Taos Children’s Theater. He has worked as a legal assistant, and his counseling interests have led to work as a forensic evaluator, performing evaluations and treatment plans for individuals in detention. He conducts a private counseling practice, but considers working with MEN a dream come true.
Joey Silva, LMSW, Group Facilitator
Much like Fritz Hahn and Steve Moser, Joey returned to studies at age 50, motivated to begin a new career in service. His internships included a mission in Tijuana, Mexico, and investigations for Child Portective Services. Joey is a native Taoseño who came up in the family excavation business before enlisting in the Navy and serving as a Seabee. A father of four, Joey comes from a large and well-respected family and knows the community intimately, including the nuances of life in a tri-cultural community. He feels a special pull to working with young fathers and military veterans.
